Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.
Meet the Houston Team Behind Ashby Chimney Houston
Most chimney companies send whoever answers the phone. We don’t work that way. The people who show up at your door in Houston are the same people who answer your questions, write your price, and stand behind the work. Every technician on our crew has swept hundreds of flues across Harris County, from older bungalows in the Heights to newer builds in Katy and Cypress. The thing that unites us is simple: we believe you deserve to see exactly what we see inside your chimney. That’s why Ashby carries ash right in the name. It’s fitting for the people whose job is to clean it out.
Styles & brands we work with

Our People
Nathan Corliss, Owner
Nathan started sweeping chimneys in 2002 and hasn’t stopped talking about flue liners since. He’s the one who set the standard we work by: every job gets a written price before any work starts, and every repair gets a written guarantee. Nathan has inspected thousands of fireplaces across Houston, and he still climbs onto roofs when the job calls for it. His favorite part of the work is handing a homeowner before-and-after photos from a camera inspection and watching their face when they see what was actually in there. When he’s not covered in soot, Nathan is usually cooking something that involves too much smoke on purpose.
Marcus T., Lead Technician
Marcus has been with Ashby Chimney Houston for eleven years, and he’s seen just about everything a Houston chimney can throw at him. He’s our lead technician and the person we send when a fireplace has a problem nobody can figure out. Marcus is certified in HeatShield and DuraFlex liner installations, and he’s the one who walks newer techs through the right way to document every repair with photos. Most of the time he works with headphones in, but if you ask him about the old chimney he found in Galveston, you’ll get a twenty-minute story. He likes to point out that a chimney should pull smoke up, not push it into the living room.
Dana R., Service Coordinator
Dana is the voice on the phone most Houston customers hear when they call. She’s been coordinating our service calls for six years, and she keeps the schedule running across the entire metro area without ever making anyone feel rushed. Dana knows the difference between a Level 1 and Level 2 inspection because she’s spent time on job sites, not just behind a desk. She’s the one who makes sure your appointment window works around Houston traffic, which is a skill all by itself. When a technician says a repair can wait a season, Dana is usually the person who talked you through why that’s true. She has a dog named Ember who has never once been helpful during a chimney call, but she brings him up anyway.
Eli S., Apprentice Technician
Eli joined the crew two years ago and is finishing his training to become a full lead technician. He spends most days on roofs and in attics learning how liner systems, dampers, and chimney caps all fit together. Eli earned his HeatShield installer certification last spring, and he’s the one who runs the camera up the flue on most inspections now. He grew up in the Clear Lake area and still thinks a little too hard about humidity when he’s checking for moisture in brick. Eli is the reason we always have extra knee pads in the van, and he’s getting pretty fast at rebuilding top plates without leaving a mess in the flower bed. He’s the first to admit he still learns something new every time he follows Marcus up a ladder.
One Standard, Every Job
A lot of companies talk about their values. We have something we actually call The Kingswell Way, and it applies to every single job this team does in Houston. It’s five things: we say the price before we start, we show up inside the appointment window, we leave the house cleaner than we found it, we put the guarantee in writing, and if a repair fails inside the guarantee period, we come back and fix it at no charge. That last part is our 365-Day Done Right Promise, and it isn’t a marketing line. It’s a written commitment that follows every repair, on every invoice, for a full year. The team you just read about is the team that honors it. Nathan, Marcus, Dana, and Eli all work to the same standard because it’s the only standard worth working to. Each Ashby location is independently owned and operated under the Kingswell Guarantee, which means the people who run the Houston location are the people who answer for the work. If you call (903) 961-6496, you’ll get Dana or another live person on the line. Not a voicemail loop, not a callback form. That’s how we’ve done it since 2002, and it’s how we’ll keep doing it.
