Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.
The Ashby Chimney Houston Guarantee
We’ve been cleaning and repairing chimneys in Houston since 2002, and we’ve learned something most homeowners already suspect: a guarantee means nothing if nobody puts it in writing. Ours is written down, handed to you before work starts, and kept simple. You get the exact price on paper before we touch your flue. You get the guarantee on paper when we finish. If the repair fails during the guarantee period, we come back and fix it at no charge. That’s the 365-Day Done Right Promise, and it applies to every sweep, inspection, and repair we do in Houston, from Meyerland to Kingwood to clear across to Katy.
What’s Covered
Every job we do in Houston comes with a specific set of commitments. Here’s exactly what our written guarantee means when you hire us:
- Workmanship is covered in writing. If something we repaired fails because of how we installed or fitted it, we return and fix it during the guarantee period at no charge to you.
- Parts and materials are handled responsibly. We source from established chimney-trade suppliers like DuraFlex, HeatShield, Gelco, Olympia Chimney, Famco, and Copperfield, and we stand behind the way those materials are installed.
- You’ll see the price before any work starts. No exceptions on this one. The written price you get at the door is the number on the invoice when we leave.
- We show up in the window we said we would. Our technicians arrive when scheduled, in uniform, and they’ve been background-checked before they ever knock on a Houston door.
- We leave the work area cleaner than we found it. Chimney sweeping stirs up soot and dust. If we make a mess inside your home, we clean it before we go. That’s part of every sweep, not an upsell.
- Your call gets answered by a live person. Day or night, you reach an actual human at (903) 961-6496. No voicemail loops, no callback forms, no waiting until Monday morning to talk to someone.

Our Satisfaction Promise
Here’s how it works when something doesn’t go the way it should. First, you call us. A live person answers, no matter the hour. You tell us what’s wrong. Second, we schedule a return visit. There’s no arguing about whether the problem counts, no fine print about what the guarantee covers. If we did the work and it’s not right, we come back. Third, we fix it at no charge during the guarantee period. That’s the free second visit, and it’s included with every repair we make in Houston.
Nathan Corliss started this company on a simple idea: the person who cleans your chimney should also be the person who stands behind the work. Not someone at a call center in another state. Not a warranty department that requires three forms and a fax machine from 2004. Just the same team you met at your front door, coming back to make it right. If we can’t make it right, we’ll say so plainly and tell you what we can do instead.
We don’t hide behind vague language like “we care about quality” or “your satisfaction is our priority.” Those phrases don’t mean anything when water is leaking into your firebox. What matters is what happens next. Ours is written down, signed, and handed to you before we leave the driveway.
Licensed & Insured Backing
The paperwork guarantee is only as good as the company behind it. We’re licensed and insured to work on chimneys and fireplaces throughout the Houston area, and that matters more than most people realize. Insurance protects your home if something unexpected happens during a sweep or repair. Licensing means the work is done to code by people who know Houston’s specific requirements, including the effects of our humidity and the way Gulf Coast weather ages masonry.
Ask any Houston homeowner who has had a fly-by-night sweep knock on their door. The guy with the ladder, the cheap price, and no insurance policy? The savings disappear fast if something goes wrong. When you call Ashby Chimney Houston, you get a company with real credentials, real insurance, and a real address. Nathan Corliss stands behind every job, every technician, and every written guarantee we hand out. That’s the Kingswell Guarantee, and it’s been the backbone of this business since 2002.

AfterWhat the Guarantee Covers in Plain Terms
Let’s translate the warranty language into what actually happens in your Houston home:
- Flue liners (the clay or steel tube that vents combustion gases out of your home). If we install or repair a stainless liner and it fails during the guarantee period, we come back. No charge. No debate.
- Fireplace repair work. Whether we’ve rebuilt a firebox, patched mortar joints, or replaced a damper, the repair is covered in writing. If it fails, the second visit is free.
- Chimney caps and chase covers. Installed correctly the first time, guaranteed in writing. If Houston’s humidity or a winter storm compromises our install during the coverage period, we make it right.
- Waterproofing and masonry sealing. The materials we apply come from trusted suppliers, and the application is covered. Houston gets about 49 inches of rain a year, so this one matters.
What the Guarantee Doesn’t Cover
We’re straight about this because a guarantee with hidden exclusions isn’t a guarantee. If a tree falls on your chimney, that’s an insurance claim. If you decide you want a bigger fireplace, that’s a new project. If someone else works on the chimney after we do, any problem with that work isn’t our responsibility. Normal wear and tear and the day-to-day effects of Houston’s sun and rain on older masonry are also outside the guarantee. But here’s what we promise about those honest limitations: we’ll tell you before the work starts. If something in your chimney is beyond repair and the guarantee won’t apply, we’ll show you the camera footage so you understand exactly what’s going on. No surprises, no vague “it’s unsafe” warnings with no evidence.
How We Back It Up: The Kingswell Way
Every independently owned ASHBY group location operates under the same five commitments. Houston homeowners hear this list because it’s the real operating manual, not a marketing slogan:
- Say the price. Written, specific, before work begins. Not an estimate scribbled on the back of a business card. A real number on a real piece of paper.
- Show up in the window. We schedule a time and we’re there. Traffic on the Katy Freeway notwithstanding.
- Leave it cleaner. Our mess is our responsibility. Your hearth, your floors, your rugs stay clean.
- Put the guarantee in writing. Every job, every time. No verbal promises.
- Come back if it fails. Free second visit inside the guarantee period. We don’t disappear after the invoice clears.
Ashby carries ash right in the name. Fitting for the people whose job is to clean it out. But the name means something else too: when our crew leaves your Houston home, the only thing left behind is a clean flue and a written promise that we’ll be back if something isn’t right.
Call (903) 961-6496 to schedule a sweep or inspection. You’ll talk to a person, get a written price, and see the flue for yourself on camera. That’s how we’ve done it in Houston since 2002, and that’s how we’ll do it on your street.
